Case Study Communication and Media Essay Example

Case Study Communication and Media Essay Example Case Study Communication and Media Essay Case Study Communication and Media Essay Case Study Communication and Media Name: Course: Date: Case Study Communication and Media Key points in relation to the pleasure bound to be gained by children from attending the launch A pleasurable learning experience will be in store for the children who attend the launch; for example, use of picture books and practical items for the learning session in the program A tour of the publishing house will be organized where the children will get a chance to learn the publishing process An opportunity for the children to meet the invited writers of children’s scientific books A chance for the children to get answers to any questions they may have concerning science from the present scientific writers. Receiving of free samples of books which will be signed on the launch venue by the specific authors Fun scientific activities such as the children being allowed to learn processes using various objects and experiments (Garder, 1991) Field trips for schools’ science classes to the launch will enable the various classes to get a chance to have a fun class activity outside the classroom as a group There will be a science quiz where the winners will receive gif t vouchers for the institution enabling them to acquire scientific books published by the Scientific Institute for Children The decor at the launch will be set in a scientific manner, for example, there will be mock orbits, with different planets and stars, where accessory telescopes and scientific gadgets will also be used (Gardner, 1991). There will be showcasing of a scientifically educative play for the children where the actors will be dressed as major scientists behind scientific theories, for example, Isaac Newton and others as astronauts. Educative benefits The children will get free signed copies of scientific books they can use in their studies of science from their homes and in science classes Children will develop an appreciation of science as they understand the origin of things and they appreciate that learning science can be fun too as they are taught scientific concepts by writers of books and through plays and visual objects. Through the quiz section, children will be taught the correct ways to answer scientific questions hence the children will gain knowledge on approaches in answering scientific questions. Children will also gain communication skills, as they will interact with other children at the launch. The launch will provide a chance for the children to get a wide range of scientific books to choose from published by the Scientific Institution for Children Implementation strategy for the actualization of the pleasures and benefits assured to the attendants of the launch The program will be organized in a manner that it accommodates all the activities intended for the day. The famous writers of scientific works for children whose books are published by JRT Publishing will be invited to the launch. A certain number of giveaway books will be agreed upon by the management of the publishing company. These books will be awarded to the winners of the quiz. A number of the giveaway books agreed upon will be the books that the authors will sign at the launch to give to the children who will attend the launch. Invitations will be sent to surrounding schools, inviting the science class for the launch clearly stating the benefits that the day will have on science learning in class. In the program for the day, part of the program will be set to teach the children the importance of science in society and the reason it is one of the most important courses in school. The children will be taught the origin of the most fundamental phenomenon in life and the application of science in their day-to-day activities. This will be done using picture books and books that are identical to toys. This will enhance and maintain the children’s interests for a longer period (Horovitz, 2006). The children will then be given an opportunity to ask any questions they may have in regards to science and the earth. They will be encouraged to know that science is all about curiosity and will be encouraged to be aware of the scientific activities that go on around them in everyday life (Segal, Bardige, Woika Leinfelder, 2006). The present authors of scientific works will be given an opportunity to answer the questions asked by the children. After this, the authors will be stationed in a designated area, and the children will all go and individually receive a signed book from the author. The more personal involvement of the authors will aid in helping children to appreciate the books of the author and aid in developing an interest in the contents of the books (Glynn, Yeany Britton, 1991). This will help increase the children’s knowledge and urge them to learn more about science hence necessitating them to buy books that are more scientific. It will also aid in indenting the memory of the experience in the child’s mind (Gardner, 1991). This will create a sense of personal relation in children with the Scientific Institute for Children publication house, which will make them urge their parents to buy them books from the publication house making them loyal customers Children retain more of the information they see and do than what they hear (Scientists in school, 2012). Hence, during the day of the launch a section of the program will be put aside for a tour around the publishing house. The children will be shown the different processes that are undergone during publication of books. The scientific processes involved will be explained in simple terms, with which the children can relate. Various activities will be arranged which will serve both an educative and entertaining purpose to the children. Several simple experiments outlined in some of the scientific books published by the publishing house will be set with the children being allowed to form and work in groups. This will help the children interact with their peers and to learn various science processes by doing the experiments themselves. This will have a higher impact in the learning capability of the child than the impact that classroom theoretical teaching would have (Segal, Bardige, W oika Leinfelder, 2006). This activity will also help in growing the children’s interactive skills, as they will carry out these experiments in groups. It will also give the children’s parents the incentive to buy the books for their children to help them continue learning even after the launch hence it will act as a marketing strategy for the publishing house. The decor will also act as a teaching tool. By setting up the place in a scientific environment manner, the curious nature in the children will be ignited, prompting them to ask questions which when answered will lead to an increase in their scientific knowledge (Glynn, Yeany Britton, 1991). Being visual learners, the children will get the knowledge ingrained in their minds making the launch a highly educative event. Children will love the place because of the interesting decor and will urge their parents to revisit the place and buy them books specifically from that publisher. In the program, there will be fun quizzes set where various children will participate with the winner getting a chance to get books published by the Scientific Institute for Children. This quiz will act as a platform for the children to showcase their knowledge, which will act as a boost to the children’s esteem. It will also teach approach skills to scientific questions, which will better the children ’s performance in class (Center for Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Education, 2000). The questions set will have been derived from the scientific books published at the publication house hence the schools involved and the parents will find it necessary to by the books to enlarge the knowledge scope for the children. Integration of the strategies in printed press campaign for the launch Using graphics and pictures of scientific equipments in the printed advertisements will lead to a higher response level from children (Clow Baack, 2007). Children have a basic interest in objects hence creating an advertisement with scientific objects strategically placed will capture the interest of children who will urge their parents to take them to the event (Guterman, 2011). The print advertisements should also be colorful to attract the children’s attention and encourage their attendance as the launch of the Scientific Institute for Children is meant to benefit children. Clearly stating the objectives of the launch and the benefits that will be attained will convince the parents to take their children to the launch since advertising to children should be aimed at creation of education for children (USCAnnenberg, 2011). The objectives of the launch will be opening a branch of the publishing house, which will aim at catering to the needs of children for scientific knowled ge. The launch will have educational benefits to the children and will generate an interest in science for the children by teaching them science in a fun way. Expressly outlining the type of fun activities planned for the participants will make the parents and children aware of what to expect while building up excitement for the event. The scientific writers of the books published by the publishing house that will be present on the day of the launch should be named in the advertisement as the main guests. This will publicize their work while at the same time familiarize the students with the writers of the books they read. Integration of the strategies in a campaign for the local TV network The event will require a lot of publicity, which can be generated by creating an advertisement to be aired in the local TV network. TV advertising is usually considered as the most effective advertising method when targeting the general mass (Clow Baack, 2007). TV advertisements are usually short hence only the most vital information should be used and in a simply understandable way (Clow Baack, 2007). The TV advertisement should be colorful, just like the print commercial, to attract the children. This is because children greatly influence their parents and will convince the parents to take them to the launch (Gore, 1989). The logo for the publishing house should be incorporated. This identifies the owner of the event. The advertisement should outline the important points such as the benefits and pleasures that will be expected from the launch, which should be set in a manner appeals to children. It should also state the date, venue and time of the event and the invited guests, such as the writers. The fun activities such as the educative play and experiment participation should also be stated. The opportunity to win freebies should be said in the advert to generate the interest of the children as most people love winning. The TV advertisement should appear repetitively, that is more than once. Most children watch television on average more than 20hrs a week hence, a repetitive message will generate curiosity and interest (Horovitz, 2006). Availing Medical Facilities at the Doorstep-Samples for Students

Working on a project and developing all the aspects related to it is a very crucial task. It ensures that the project should get pleted in a smooth manner. A proper plan should be developed in which all the aspects which will indulge in the project should be focused upon (Petit, 2012). The project initiated is about developing an application which will help in availing medical facilities in the rural areas of Australia. An application will be developed which will be connected with the kiosk machines and with the mobile phones of the people living in the rural areas. Application on the mobile phones and kiosk machines will be designed in such way which is easy to use and manage by the people living in the rural areas of Australia. The project initiated will help in providing better services to the munity and will help the people of Australia in managing a sustainable as well as healthy life (Skibniewski, et. al., 2012). Hence, a project is developed which will include a proper descrip tion of what are the aspects required to be taken into consideration before working on the project. It is being evaluated that the people living in the rural areas faces issues in getting proper medical facilities. Hence, by providing them such type of app will help them in managing the healthy life and will help the pany in providing a 75% hike in the sale as Australia has various rural areas where the medical facilities are not much effective (Stanek, et. al., 2016) Projects are developed for the welfare of the business. Aim of developing a new project is to generate more revenue and to ensure that more refined services could be developed (Thomas, 2015). There are various set of benefits which are required to be taken into consideration. But before evaluating the benefits it is necessary that various aspects should be focused upon like market analysis, SWOT analysis and output analysis. Market of online health service is a growing sector which is sustaining in the urban market. It is being evaluated that many of the people are using such type of services and are enjoying them as they are getting health tips just by making certain clicks (Too, & Weaver., 2014). There are many of the health service providers who are providing consultations with the help of online applications in the urban areas. The online health services are sustaining day by day and are moving on a successful path. Taking this business to the rural areas will definitely help in the sustainability of the munity (Cengage Lea Schwalbe, 2015). Providing instant services will help in attracting people of rural areas with the effect of which organization will move on the path of success and sustainability. Plan developed will help in sustainability of the munity There is no petition available in the rural areas Online Medical services has a growing market Helping the rural areas to growth is a noble cause in which government will also provide appropriate set of help for the initiation of project (Koltsov, et. al., 2015). It is necessary that the people of rural areas should provide the knowledge of app, because low knowledge will affect the sale of the product and services. Huge investment is required in the kiosk machine as well as app development. Availability of proper set of resources is really tough Has a very wide area to cover and attract people towards the application. Innovation is there which will help in the sustainability aspects and gaining proper set of market share. Failing to cover maximum rural areas could have a direct impact on the business. It could be possible that people of rural areas may not trust the online app and would rather prefer to visit health care centres. This will affect the sale of the business in near future. It could be possible that new petitors could enter into the market (Palma-Mendoza, et. al., 2014). This will have a huge impact on the sale of the products and services in the rural areas. Understanding the market and evaluating the SWOT analysis it could be evaluated that providing online health services in the rural areas will result in providing various set of benefits to the organisation. Market has a huge potential for growth as people available in the rural areas of Australia will definitely prefer to use the application (Patton, et. al., 2015). It is required that information camp should be organized in which information related with the kiosk machines and application should be provided to the people available in rural areas. This will help in attracting maximum number of people available in the rural areas towards the application. There are certain dis-benefits also which are attached with the new project like it could be possible that people available in the rural areas might not use the application and might prefer to visit the health practitioners directly rather than using the app (Mainga, 2017). Lack of knowledge will have a huge impact on the use of application. This will have a direct impact on the progress of the business and will affect the sale of the same. To manage the project in an effective way it is required that all the requirements needed to carry out the project should be taken into consideration. To manage the project there are several aspects which are required to be taken into consideration these aspects are: Stakeholder’s analysis is required to be taken into consideration as it will help in understanding the requirements and needs they have (Martinsuo, &   Killen, 2014). This will help in managing their requirements and will help managing the project in an effective way. IT team is also required to be hired for the development of the mobile app and kiosk machine Kiosk machines are required to be purchased so that they could be availed in every rural area. Appropriate project management tool will be required to manage the same in a proper way And 4 systems will be required so that the application could be developed according to the requirement (Mishra, 2014). Assumptions are made which helps in developing the understanding with the future aspects which could incur. It is required that the assumptions should be made in an appropriate way and decisions should be made accordingly. It could be assumed that after promoting the app and description of the kiosk machine maximum number of people will get attracted towards the business and will help in sustainability of the same and vice versa (Mà ¼ller, 2015). It could also be assumed that the project initiated will help in availing appropriate set of services in the emergency cases which will help in providing sustainability to the munity. Assumption could also be made that this project will help in providing expansion opportunities to the organisation and will help in the sustainability aspects. Project management is an unpredictable aspect as it is hard to predict all the aspects in a proper way. There are certain set of constraints which could be left behind and these constraints could have a huge impact on the project progress (Pandey, 2008). It could be possible that the IT team could fail in testing the app properly due to which bugs in will left. This will have a huge impact on the implementation of the project to general public. It could be possible that people available in the rural areas may not have proper set of knowledge about the app. Hence, it will again have a huge impact on the progress of the project (Petit, 2012). Determining cost of the project proposed is one of the most important aspects attached with the project plan. It is important that proper analysis of the cost which will indulge in the project should be done as it helps in providing direction to the project developer and helps in managing the work accordingly. In the project proposed cost which could be estimated is $36000. It is a very nominal cost that will in paid by the organisation for the project. Reason behind this cost is that the organisation is already working in the rural areas and there are various centres which are already available in those areas. Hence, the main expense which will incur in the project process will be on the development of the application for mobile and kiosk machines and on the kiosk machines itself only (Skibniewski, et. al., 2012). There are certain other expenses also which will incur in the promotion of the app in rural areas. Therefore the all over cost estimated for the pletion of the project is $36000. Cost benefit analysis is the tool which will be used so as to evaluate the cost which will indulge the project. This will help in evaluating the expenses which will incur and the benefit which a pany will get from the expenses it has made on the project. Cost benefit analysis will help in estimating all set of requirements and will help in making the decision of whether the pany should initiate the project or not (Stanek, et. al., 2016). In cost benefit analysis Net Present Value of the project will be calculated also it will include return on investment and will include break even analysis which will help in determining the payback period of the project. With the help of these aspects pany will be able to make the decision of whether it should apply the project or not. There are various set of risk factors which remain attached with the project. It is necessary that these risk factors should be taken into consideration so as to manage the project and maintain its requirements. Project management is a very crucial task which requires in depth analysis of all the aspects. Hence, it is necessary that the major risk factors should be evaluated and strategies should be developed to mitigate them (Thomas, 2015). Five major risks which are identified in relation with the project are: Choice and Preferences of the target customers These are the five risk factors which could have a huge impact on the progress of the project. It is necessary for the project manager to make the predictions with the help of forecasting so as to gain appropriate set of information related with the risk factors (Too, & Weaver., 2014). Unavailability of the resources will affect the progress of the project as no work could be processed without having appropriate set of resources. Unavailability of funds will have a direct impact on the project, it will have a huge impact on the functions of the project. Natural disaster is another aspect which can affect the project progress (Cengage Lea Schwalbe, 2015) Lack of leadership will affect the internal aspects of the project and will lead to misguide the team working in the project. Choice and preferences of the target customer will again have a huge impact on the project progress as it could be possible that people may not prefer to go with online services. This will lead to cause a huge loss to the pany (Ong, et. al., 2016). It will take 2 months to plete the project, which will also include the training of the employees so that they could work appropriately on the application (Koltsov, et. al., 2015). A step by step process will be provided which is required to be followed by each and every individual working on the project. It is important that the time provided for the task should be followed in an appropriate way so as to ensure that the project could get pleted within the timeframe. Major milestones decided by the project manager for the project are: Evaluating the need of the project which will be done within 2 days. In this analysis will be done of why it is required to develop such type of app for rural areas (Palma-Mendoza, et. al., 2014). Project scheduling is another aspect which will be focused upon. Project scheduling will be pleted within 5 days (Pigott & Hobbs, 2011). Time keeping will be done which will be pleted in 2 days Technical design will take 15 days as it will include various programming and developing of the app. Testing will be done for the 10 days in which all the bugs will be removed. And then training will be provided for 15 days to the staff members (Patton, et. al., 2015) At the end it could be concluded that the project initiated will help in the expansion of the pany. The project proposed will help in managing the requirement of the munity and will help in providing a better set of support to the munity. It could be evaluated that for a project it is necessary that all set of aspects should be taken into consideration and analysis should be done so as to provide a better set of support for the future success. Observe, Analyze and Report Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Observe, Analyze and Report - Term Paper Example What are the unique characteristics and behaviors of the members of each group? These are just some of the questions which one hopes to answer after observing the social groups in a school canteen. The observation day was conducted on a Monday at around lunch time. From one’s conversation with some students, one learned that it was an exam week for high school students. One sat at a corner table of the canteen. It was around 11:30am, minutes before the students’ lunch break. One was ready with a pen and paper where the observations of the groups will be written. A few minutes later, students started arriving at the canteen, right after finishing their tests in two subjects. They will be having two more long tests in the afternoon from two different subjects. This information was volunteered by one student whom one got to talk to. The first group that arrived was a group of five Asian American girls who were talking in their native tongue while entering the canteen. They all had slanted eyes, fair complexion and dark hair. Their clothes were simple and modest. They wore shirts, denim pants and sneakers. They all carried back packs. Aside from the back packs, they have books and folders on their arms. They sat down on one of the corner tables of the canteen and put down all their bags and books on the table. One expected them to bring out their lunch boxes or go to the counter to get their food but they did not. Instead, they were discussing in English, the test questions from the tests that they just took. After around 20 minutes of talking to each other, two of the girls stood up and went to the food counter. The remaining three girls meanwhile brought out their lunch boxes. Two girls brought out what looks like rice and a viand. While the other one brought out a cup of instant noodles soup with chopsticks. The two girls who went to the food counter then came back with sandwiches, milk and juice. They all started to eat their lunch with conversati ons in between. One then focused one’s attention to a group of ten rowdy boys and girls who entered the canteen. They were obviously sports jocks as evidenced by their sports jackets. They wore branded rubber shoes. They were masculine and handsome teenage boys. They were with some pretty blonde girls who were fashionably dressed and with make-up on. They were giggling and teasing each other, oblivious of the crowd in the canteen whose eyes all turned to them when they entered the canteen. From observation, one can conclude that two pairs from the group were in a relationship. One pair was holding hands while the other pair seems extra sweet to each other. The group chose the center table at the canteen and connected two other tables to make one long table. Being an exam week, this group of students does not look like they care about their studies. Although they also carried books, one sees no sign of them discussing anything about the tests that they have just taken or revie wing for the other two exams for the afternoon. Theirs was a carefree attitude, the exact opposite of what one observed from the group of Asian American students. After socializing with each other, they all went to the food counter. Most of the boys got a hamburger and fries while the girls got salads and fruits. The third group of students that one got to observe is a group of four male nerds. This is the group known in the school as the weird, intelligent guys who lacked social skills. One knows that this is the nerd group because

Brain development - Essay Example Nevertheless, resources for inhibition are constrained in most advancing regions of the world. The confrontation for this century is to endorse community leaders and government officials to take on the prevention of cognitive impairment as the leading priority for the community. This article proposes that specialists in child behavior and development work with agencies branching from of the United Nations to come up with a world cognitive impairment watch. This program should be able to evaluate and help every state yearly in terms of risk aspects, hindrance watches, and premature intercession programs2. b. The pandemic of neurodevelopmental invectives affecting kids and adults surpasses the sum of these issues3. This epidemic is cumulative due to the escalating population numbers, increased existence rates of kids surviving illnesses or circumstances that compromise brain development. c. More kids are surviving illnesses or disorders that interfere with brain development: This guide towards cognitive development of the kids’ brain, making prevention and therapy harder for specialists. e. The number of child behavior and advancement specialists in the United States is diminishing: Kids’ specialists are decreasing and the ratio for therapy decease, making these kids more vulnerable to develop with impaired brain maturity and cognitive mental conditions. ComputAbility - Sales Goals Essay -- essays research papers

ComputAbility, a mail-order company, began in 1982. An authorized reseller of computer software and hardware, ComputAbility offers their clients over 50,000 products. The company has built their reputation on a foundation of competitive prices and quality service. In August of 1997, Creative Computers, also a mail-order company, acquired ComputAbility. The acquisition provided a number of benefits to the company, primarily a larger product selection to offer to customers. Currently, ComputAbility employs 60 + people with plans of adding on 20 to 30 more sales representatives and support staff during the next year. Prior to February of 1998, all of the sales representatives were in the inbound division. This division handles all incoming sales calls. Majorities of these calls are from individual consumers. Creative Computers had started their company the same way, but found the growth potential was in the business sector. In February of 1998, ComputAbility started their corporate sales division, an area already underway at Creative. This division of the company was created to develop relationships with business clients, and become the primary way of increasing company profit. Computability added a dedicated trainer to the staff at the same time the corporate division was started. This individual’s primary responsibilities were to train new hires in the areas of sales, product knowledge, company policies and procedures and computer systems. Although there was a solid training program in place, including ongoing new product training from manufacturers, the company was not profiting at an acceptable rate. ComputAbility experienced a decrease in sales and profits during the first year after the acquisition. The expectation was that the acquisition should have provided the tools necessary to increase sales. So what could be the problem? Although ComputAbility sales representatives now had more tools available to them, something was still missing. Creative Computers decided to test a sales training program for the corporate sales division. There are a number of sales training tools available. Tools range from books and seminars to dedicated sales training company programs. Management decided to work with a company who had developed a sales training program. The initial step was for top management to go through the training to see if it was worth the time and... ...o sales improvement. This relationship will take some time. A longer phone conversation can help to qualify better and build the trust needed to assist in repeated sales volume. The longer you are on the phone, the greater the chance you will have to sell something to the client. The last graph looks at the monthly attendance vs adjusted gross profit and one can see little relationship on a direct basis. It should be noted that if you do not come to work you would not make any calls. However just being at work will not guarantee you success. The success of the program is dependent on the attitude of quality not quantity. In summary, the amount of expertise developed over time and the amount of quality conversations developed over time are the important factors. Abstract: This case discusses the customer service initiatives of LL Bean, Inc, a US-based multichannel retailer. LL Bean had evolved from being a mail order company selling hunting boots into a leading international retailer selling apparels, home furnishings and outdoor equipment. In its 98-year long history, the company had preserved the customer-centric tradition set by the founder and had, over the years, molded its operational policies to provide superior purchasing experience to customers. The company believed that a satisfied customer helped build customer loyalty and encouraged repeat purchases, which were essential to achieve success in the retail business. The case discusses in detail the customer-friendly policies of LL Bean and the customer service practices that had resulted in its being recognized as a customer service champion by consumers and industry observers. The Persistence of Memory - 916 Words

Alyssa Hankins Art 1300 Section 001 9-29-11 The Persistence of Memory Spain, 1931, Salvador Dali creates an abstract oil on canvas portrayal or the knowledge that is gained through ones dreams, visions, and intuition. The Persistence of Memory, 1931 portrays an abstract view of time and visions that Dali envisioned. Perhaps, his most famous work was The Persistence of Memory, which he painted in his younger years in the 30s. The Persistence of Memory, 1931, elevates the influence of the subconscious mind through fantasy like images, color, composition, and thought provoking images. Dali uses abstract images to represent a balance of altered views, conveying what is reality and what is from the minds eye. A cold tree trunk standing on the largest elevated surface leads the viewer’s eyes in a circle back to where focus began at. This stub is seemingly cold and lifeless, with one time piece hanging from its outstretched limb. Dali stimulates the spectator’s mind, leading the individual on a subconscious escapade (as he initially intended during composition). The different abstract images shown in The Persistence of Memory, 1931, create a merry-go-round as each image leaves the observer in a state of wonder, drawing them in. The image of what seems to be some sort of shapeless human form brings about questions of the relevance of the images existence. Dali attempted to portray an insignificant self-image in a world possessing a significant amount of more chaos and importance. These timepieces are intended to demonstrate the importance in daily living that time and measurement play in each individual’s life. The melting watches are a profound representation that is frequently linked with hallucinations and surrealism. These images are used to convey an alternate sense of reality which takes place in human cognition, further guiding individuals away from the actuality of reality. In my opinion, Dali accurately portrays the human mind in the way that it views precisely what it favors.
